Pearl jewelry is often handed down as a family heirloom, from mother to daughter. It is one of the most classic materials from which to make jewelry, and has been highly sought after for generations. The design possibilities with pearl are virtually endless.

The most common pearl jewelry usually consists of necklaces and earrings. However, there are many other varieties as well. Hair clips, rings and bracelets are also commonly made with pearl.

Pearl jewelry is usually made from round pearls. These are commonly considered the highest quality. However, odd shaped pearls often make the most interesting jewelry.
